2007 International & Evaluation Contest  (14/03/2007)
WPH Toastmasters ran the 2007 Club Evaluation and Prepared Speech contests on 13 March. The 14 members and 6 visitors were treated to a night of excellent entertainment, with Jim Birtwistle (Evaluation) and Jürgen Oschadleus (International) winning in a fierce contest.

Target speaker Isabelle Clark from Parramatta Breakfast Club set the ball rolling with a lovely speech about the toolbox given to her as a gift. Five Club members (Jim Birtwistle, Jürgen Oschadleus, Ross Richard, Paul Johnson and Slava Krnjetin) evaluated her presentation and provided encouragement, compliments and guidance. Jim received the vote for best evaluator, with Jürgen taking second spot.

Six members competed in a very closely fought International Speech Contest: Slava Krnjetin ("1968"), Ross Richard ("Going Nowhere"), Jürgen Oschadleus ("Last Train to Freedom"), Alan Taylor ("A Friend in Need"), Vicki Samson ("The Beast Within") and Jacquie Mason ("My Grandfather, My Hero") made life very difficult for the judges. Eventually the judges delivered the verdict in Jürgen's favour, with Jacquie finishing in second place.

Jim and Jürgen now represent the Club at the Area 37 contest on 30 March 2007.
